Temporary visas and international students
The NSW Department of Education requires all school-aged students who are under 18 years of age, and who hold a temporary resident visa, to live with their parent during any period of enrolment in NSW government school. NSW Department of Education offer a world-class standard of education from the largest education provider in Australia.
All temporary residents seeking to enrol in a NSW government school must lodge their application online to the Temporary Residents Program.
The application process can commence once your child arrives in Australia and has an Australian residential address. The Temporary Residents Program has information about eligibility and the forms to complete an application.
School contributions
In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.
For more information, see Voluntary school contributions on the Department of Education's website.
Transition Programs
Our transition to school programs aim to orient children to the school environment and support school staff to build relationships with the future cohort of children.
Children start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn 5 on or before 31 July of that year. By law, all children must be enrolled in compulsory schooling by their 6th birthday.
Kindergarten Orientation Program
Our school begins Kindergarten transition during term 3 & 4. Children who experience a positive transition to school feel a sense of belonging and are able to manage day-to-day challenges within the learning environment.

Year 7 Transition Program
Our school begins a Year 7 transition program during Term 4 of Year 6. It is important to attend any orientation or ‘meet the teacher’ events offered by our school. It will make Year 7 easier if you know what to expect, how the school works and who to talk to about issues. Staying in touch with your child’s progress may be harder than primary school as they may have a different teacher for each subject.
